This training will review Psychiatric Advance Directives (PAD) content and purpose. We will also discuss the PAD process and use in the CARE Act.​

Learning Objectives

At the end of the session, participants will have an increased ability to:

  • Describe the importance of PADs as a blueprint for person-centered care.
  • Articulate next steps needed to implement PADs as part of the CARE process.
  • Identify innovative tools and processes that may activate and utilize the PAD in the CARE process.

This training is intended for all counties, counsel, judges, county providers, and other stakeholders that are participating in the CARE Act implementation.

The subsequent open-forum discussion is intended only for counties, counsel, judges, and their county providers to ask questions, discuss topics needing clarification, and to share ideas and thoughts among county team members.
