CARE Act TTA County Liaisons
Health Management Associates (HMA) is contracted with the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) to provide training and technical assistance (TTA) for the CARE Act. Each county has an assigned HMA liaison who acts as a single point of contact to provide direct TTA. Although “coaching” may be applicable at times (depending on the subject matter and expertise of the liaison), the liaison triages questions, technical assistance requests, and feedback from counties. Liaisons are responsible for ensuring that counties’ TTA requests are connected to the correct subject matter expert and the counties receive prompt, concise responses. Counties may reach out to their liaison via direct emails, via the [email protected] email or the TTA request form, or via trainings or other avenues.
Merila Thorne-Thomsen ([email protected]) is the liaison coordinator. The county specific liaison assignments are identified below. Each liaison regularly reaches out to their assigned county CARE lead or team, meets as requested by the county, and supports the county’s TTA needs.
