A part of the series on understanding serious mental illness, American Psychiatric Association (APA) Guidelines for Treatment discusses principles of the APA guidelines and provides recommendations regarding assessment, treatment planning, medications, and psychosocial interventions. It also discusses ways in which APA guidelines can be applied to supporting respondents in the CARE process.
