Role of the Peer in the CARE Process

Topics:

Provides an overview of how peers can participate in the CARE Act, such as a volunteer supporter, as part of the behavioral health team, or as part of a peer organization. Discusses principles and core competencies of peer workers, including strategies and resources available for peers.

Per updates in Senate Bill 27, as of January 1, 2026, bipolar I disorder with psychotic features, except psychosis related to intoxication, is an eligible diagnosis. This training has been updated to reflect this update. For more information, see the Senate Bill 27 brief.
